For the tavern design in Limassol, Cyprus, serving local cuisine, Maria Green proposed to use traditional Mediterranean interior design solutions, but reimagined with a contemporary twist. The walls were made light and textured, with a hand-finished effect, the floor was covered with patterned tiles, and large-mesh hemp rope partitions, reminiscent of ship shrouds, were used. The result is a truly Made in Cyprus experience!
The blue staircase became the main interior accent in the tavern, complemented by other elements in a blue palette: a bar counter decorated with glazed tiles, concrete wall fragments, door panels, dining room chairs, and table candlesticks. The awning for the second-floor veranda, designed according to Maria’s sketches, is reminiscent of the sails of luxury yachts.
