Art Deco interior design, also known as the Gatsby style, is the embodiment of luxury, geometry, and dynamism. Emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, Art Deco immediately became a symbol of wealth and success, and a century later, it remains relevant. Geometric shapes and patterns, strong color contrasts, luxurious finishing materials, ethnic motifs, and exotic textures are hallmarks of this style.

Modern Art Deco in pastel colors

Decorative hanging screens made of crystal beads, polished marble floors and blue wall panels, and glass pendants on designer chandeliers—everything in this living room sparkles and shines. This enhances the feeling of a crisp, frosty morning. The steps of the grand staircase are illuminated by LED strip lighting, highlighting the monumental structure. The blue chairs, cushions, and curtains complement the decor.

Laws of symmetry

The symmetrical layout is a nod to classical traditions. It allows for a proper organization of the spacious living room space, and is achieved through paired furnishings, such as unique floor lamps with gold frames and white cylindrical lampshades. They create a streamlined layout for the sitting area with blue upholstered furniture.

Gold as a symbol of success

Mirrors and crystal lamps, backlit onyx and black glass, graphite-gray velour and carriage-style couplers—the Art Deco style in the bedroom interior in the photo is presented in a modern interpretation. The monochrome background looks elegant and understated, while the matte gold accents the lamp frames, furniture, and panels composed of narrow, beveled mirrors.

Color contrast

One of the key features of Art Deco is color contrast, and designers consider black and white to be the classic contrasting combination. In a modern interior, this can be represented by a zebra-patterned rug.
